About Empower
Based in Seattle, we provide comprehensive orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapy through a holistic lens, and specialize in working with strength athletes & the LGBTQ+ community.
APPROACH
-
We approach physical rehabilitation as a collaborative process rather than a prescriptive one– you are the expert of your own body.
We work together with patients and clients to help them reach their goals by prioritizing what matters most to them. To create a plan of care, our clinicians listen to your needs, goals, and concerns as well as perform a thorough assessment, after which they share a transparent explanation of what’s causing your symptoms and how we can collaborate on a plan to get you feeling better.
Our goal is to give you the tools to self-manage your symptoms, whether they be related to improving mobility, strength, balance, pain, movement quality, or a combination of it all. We value evidence-based approaches that empower folks, so that eventually, you don’t need us anymore!
-
The treatment philosophy at Empower is that injuries and symptoms never exist in a silo. Especially with regard to orthopedics & pelvic floor, they are inextricably linked and both aspects need to be addressed in order to understand the full picture of someone's symptoms and the roadmap to getting them better.
We also know the massively important role that emotions and the nervous system play in regards to pain. A treatment session at Empower will leave you not only feeling better, but also having a greater understanding of what is causing your symptoms and what tools you can develop to manage them so that you can be active in the things that bring you joy!
-
We take pride in offering an inclusive environment with intake forms that allow patients to specify their pronouns and chosen name. Our clinicians always strive to utilize the most up-to-date, gender neutral language and are knowledgeable regarding how unique health considerations like hormonal, medical, and surgical affirming treatments influence your health picture.
Empower Physio enthusiastically embraces inclusivity and actively works beyond the patient care level to reduce health inequities for LGBTQ+ folks. We create educational content for patients and providers alike that centers the unique needs of this community and how it can be addressed.
